Laura Marshak, Ph. D. has more than twenty years experience in disability issues. She is a professor of counseling at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Marshak is also a founding partner and psychologist at North Hills Psychological Services where she works with parents of children with disabilities. She is presently working on her sixth book.

Fran Pollock Prezant, M.Ed, CCC-SLP is currently Senior Vice President and Director of Research and Evaluation at Abilities!, a non-profit organization dedicated ot independence, self sufficiency and full participation by people with disabilities (formerly National Center for Disability Services) in New York. Trained as a speech and language pathologist, she has been a parent trainer, program director, university instructor, grant writer and administrator, researcher and consultant.
